In the weeks leading up to our signature production, Splendid CHINA, the studio becomes a hive of creative energy, technical refinement, and cultural storytelling.
Rehearsals for Splendid CHINA are as intense as they are inspiring. With choreography that blends classical Chinese forms, ethnic minority traditions, and modern staging techniques, each piece demands focus, control, and emotion from every dancer. Our cast includes performers of all ages, from pre-teens to professionals, who rehearse side-by-side in an atmosphere that’s both rigorous and deeply collaborative.
This year’s program features several new works choreographed by award-winning artists from China, alongside returning favorites that our audiences have come to love. Dancers spend hours mastering complex formations, practicing with traditional props like fans and long sleeves, and perfecting transitions that must feel effortless under the stage lights.
